BLOCK CUTTING SERVICE
Among the services we offer at González y Mestre, block cutting for transformation into slabs is an essential stage of the production process.
This is a task that requires experience and in-depth knowledge of the material. Each block has unique characteristics —density, veining, hardness, or potential internal stresses— and it is essential to interpret them correctly before cutting. This prior assessment allows us to optimize material yield and ensure a technically suitable result for subsequent processing.
The cutting is carried out in our facilities using our own equipment and under specialized supervision, ensuring that each block is handled according to the technical criteria required by its nature.
SLAB REINFORCEMENT SERVICE
Slab reinforcement is a key process to guarantee the consistency and stability of natural stone before final finishing.
At González y Mestre, each slab is treated individually, repairing fissures, minor breakages, pores, or weakened areas according to its specific needs. The goal is to improve its performance during subsequent processing stages and ensure that the piece maintains its structural integrity.
Depending on the type of material, we apply different technical reinforcement solutions, combining resins and meshes tailored to each case. This stage requires detailed knowledge of each material, as every slab has particular characteristics that must be carefully analyzed and treated with precision.
FINISHING SERVICE
At González y Mestre, we carry out different types of finishes on large-format slabs, adapting to the technical and aesthetic requirements of each project. This stage is essential in defining the texture, shine, and final appearance of the material.
Each of these finishes is applied according to the characteristics of the material and the client’s objectives, ensuring quality and control throughout the entire process.
POLISHED
Creates a completely smooth and glossy surface, enhancing the color, veining, and natural appearance of the marble. This finish provides the highest level of reflection and sophistication.
HONED
Achieves a matte, smooth-to-the-touch surface with no reflection. It is a refined and elegant finish, highly valued for its natural and uniform appearance. Available for marble, granite, and quartzite.
AGED
Gives the surface a worn, soft-textured effect, imitating the natural aging of the stone. It conveys warmth and character. Available for marble, granite, and quartzite.
BUSH-HAMMERED
Produces a rough and pronounced texture, ideal when a visually striking finish with a certain level of slip resistance is required. It highlights the internal structure of the material.
SANDBLASTED
Provides a fine and uniform surface roughness. Its appearance is matte and slightly textured, offering discretion and visual uniformity.
